Términos novedosos recogidos en el DRAE
A continuación presentamos, por su novedad y vigencia actual, una selección de los términos recogidos en el DRAE, Edición XXI (1992) en 1994, con sus equivalentes en inglés norteamericano:

algol (a science-oriented computer programming language)

that which can be used as food

dealing with or referring to nutrition

alteridad
otherness
alternativa
alternative (in the sense or option). Until this last edition, alternativa was only the possibility of making a choice; now it also means the choice itself, as in English. Also: posibilidad, opción.
amovible
removable. Inamovible = nonremovable
anamnesia
medical history of a patient
